Questions
What motifs are included in spiritual and religious tattoos?
You'll find lotus flowers, mandalas, and Daruma dolls originating from Buddhism; crosses, rosaries, praying hands, and angels from Christianity; as well as yin and yang, dreamcatchers, and torii gates. On each motif's dedicated page, you can view only designs related to that specific motif.
Are there any precautions to take when getting a religious motif?
Some motifs are cherished in specific religions or cultures, and some people choose them after researching their origins and how they are perceived. It's best to decide after a consultation with an artist, considering where and how the tattoo will be displayed, including its placement.
How should I convey the meaning I want to infuse into my tattoo?
Explaining who or what the tattoo is for will make it easier to consider combinations of motifs and accompanying words together. If you're adding words, deciding on the spelling and font beforehand will help the process. Visiting Japan?
