About
Nice to meet you. I am Kaira, a tattoo artist belonging to Bizen art tattoo studio. I dedicate ample time to design consultations and proposals, striving to bring your thoughts and resolve to life. This ranges from simple, classic designs to new-sense designs that incorporate "Kaira's unique style" and "your individuality," without being confined by Japanese or Western categories. Beyond my technical skills, I pour all the experience and knowledge gained from art school, the time spent learning, and the sincere heart that traces my feelings into every tattoo I create daily.
Concept
"Looks familiar, yet belongs nowhere." Drawing from my experience in traditional crafts and fine arts, I specialize in unique pattern designs that combine soft streamlines with sharp cores. These designs are built upon the foundation of global ethnic patterns and cultures, while uniquely incorporating spirals and geometric compositions. I pursue tattoos that express the prayers and resolve of each individual client.
History
Graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan Kogei High School, Machine Craft Department Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University, Faculty of Design, Textile Design Major In 2019, while still in university, I became an apprentice to tattoo artist Bizen. During high school, I was part of the ceramics club, and it was around this time that I encountered "henna tattoos" and "jagua tattoos." I was fascinated by the commonality between ceramics and henna tattoos – both involve manual, primitive methods and have a history deeply intertwined with human "clothing, food, and shelter." My encounter with Bizen, who would later become my master, was also sparked by henna tattoos. After approximately three years of apprenticeship, I received the name "Kaira" from my master upon my debut. The name was given with the philosophy: "Never forget your beginner's spirit, and honestly cherish your own 'Kai' (world) view. May the connections that expand from that worldview intertwine and spiral ('ra') together, leading to even more connections." What I draw is not decoration, but structure. Spirals, breath, points, and lines. Using these, I engrave the prayers and resolve within people, as forms residing on the body.
Message
I find happiness in thinking and creating through the movement of my hands, and in accompanying the human destiny of living. Although we live in an uncertain and challenging world, an era where values are constantly shifting, I believe in breath more than in right answers, and I hope to discover landscapes with my clients that can only be reached by moving our hands. Please feel free to consult with me.
